November 30, 2021

A North Central advocacy group known as The North Central Advocacy and Contact Committee on their tour round the North Central zone of Nigeria, made a stop at Markudi, the state capital of the food basket of the Nation, Benue state, in continuation of the gospel of the need for the zone to produce a unitary candidate to run for the 2023 presidential elections. The group led by its chairman, Prof. (Ambassador) Iorwuse Haghea was welcomed and received by the Benue state PDP chairman, Hon. John Ngbede at the party’s state secretariat.

“We have been at the forefront of helping other zones to become president, we have sacrificed nearly everything to ensure the smooth sail of Nigeria”, Sen Adokwe asserted.

Speaking further, the former deputy governor of Nasarawa state stressed the need for the zone to be united and produce a sole candidate as the country heads into the next presidential election.

Sen. Adokwe stated that while the North Central zone has many capable hands to run the affairs of this country, he is appealing that the zone streamlines its plans and narrow it down to one candidate. He further argued on the need to support the candidacy of a former two (2) term governor of Kwara state and former president of the 8th assembly in the person of H.E. Sen. (Dr) Bukola Saraki as he possesses all the wealth of knowledge to steer the ship of Nigeria.

While addressing the teeming party stakeholders, a former secretary to the kogi state government, Dr Musa Ahmadu put in perspective on the first goal which is to produce a North Central presidential candidate and has urged the zone to wake up and stop playing a second fiddle.

“Who in the North Central  can shoulder this onerous task,” Dr. Ahmadu enthused. “Saraki is a man of doggedness, capacity and possesses the skills  to shoulder this responsibility. By implication, what we are saying is that we should work with and for Sen. Bukola Saraki to achieve this goal,” he concluded.

Prof. Iyorwuse Haghea, who is President of the African Leadership Institute USA and a former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Canada and a presidential aspirant took time to address the party’s state executives and critical stakeholders expressing the personality of Sen. Bukola Saraki.

"Saraki represents and defines what North central is, Saraki fits all the description of the North Central, no one is more North Central than him, and no one can surmount the challenges of Nigeria like Saraki, many of our capable hands who are more than qualified to be president of this country have declined running for the presidency and that leaves us with one candidate and that person is Sen. Abubakar Bukola Saraki," the chairman of the advocacy team stated.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP state executives and stakeholders welcomed the Advocacy group and reiterated their commitment towards achieving this goal.
