Afrobeat: P-Square Narrates How They Are Responsible For Wizkid, Burnaboy And Davido's Globally Recognition.

Nigerian musicians Paul and Peter Okoye, better known as P-Square, boldly asserted during a recent interview on "The 77" Podcast that their breakup in 2016 opened the door for some of the country's most well-known artists, including Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and others, to take center stage in the afrobeats music scene.

Before separating in 2016, the Okoye brothers claimed to have dominated the Nigerian and African music scenes for almost 14 years, paving the door for other Nigerian performers to take center stage. Peter Okoye did not take long to deny assertions that afrobeats became well-known throughout the world during their separation.

But their statement underscores the tremendous influence they had as a partnership on the Nigerian music scene. If P-Square were still intact, it's interesting to consider what the current state of the Nigerian music scene may entail.
