Okakanda Assumes Office As KOTRAMA General Managing Director

The newly appointed General Managing Director of Kogi State Traffic Management Agency, KOTRAMA, Engr. Abdulrazaq Aminu (Okakanda), has assumed duty, with an assurance to ensure free flow of traffic in line with relevant laws of the state.
Okakanda, who replaced Engr. Emmanuel Stephen, made the remarks after a tour of the agency‘s facilities shortly after assuming office on Monday at the agency’s headquarters in Lokoja, the State Capital.
He reiterated the vision of the current administration of the executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alh. Ododo Ahmed Usman in ensuring freer Kogi roads through the agency.
Addressing senior officials of the agency, Okakanda reaffirmed the commitment of the administration to professionalism through human capacity building and hinted that competence, commitment, diligence, and concern for citizens should be their watchwords in the discharge of their duties.
The KOTRAMA's head of operation, Mrs. Joy Adams who spoke enormously on behalf of the junior officers expressed happiness on the appointment of the KOTRAMA Boss. She recounted the accomplishments and challenges of the agency, expressing optimism that the new boss will proffer solution to stimulate them in quality service delivery.
Hon. Okakanda who reacted to their concerns assures them of the needed attention by the state government to putting the agency on track. He urged the officials to be focused and devise scientific methods of unlocking gridlocks associated with the state.
He hinted the officials that the old practice of chasing vehicles will no longer be plausible, but the use of electronic documentation to arrest defaulters.
He said: “Gone are the days of impunity, indiscipline and extortion of money from motorists. All negative vices capable of damaging the image of the government should be done away with.
“KOTRAMA, as the engine room of Kogi State economic growth can only be achieved when traffic officers are dedicated to duty.
“Henceforth, the focus of the agency will be to facilitate seamless driving on Kogi roads where goods and services will be delivered within time frame.”
