Kogi Auditor-General for LG Seeks Synergy with State AG, MDAs for Effectiveness

Kogi State Auditor-General for Local Government, Honourable Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege has sought effective collaboration of the office of Accountant General of Kogi State and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in order to sustain the culture of fiscal transparency, probity and accountability bequeathed them by the administration of the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

Honourable Yakubu who made the move recently in Lokoja while paying courtesy call on the Accountant General of the State, Hajiya Habibat Onumoko added that Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will leave no stone unturned in his quest to implement all his promises to the people of the state.

The Auditor-General for Local Government who used the opportunity to congratulate Hajiya Habibat Onumoko for being part of the team that ensured impactful governance in just 100 days in office of Governor Ododo further expressed satisfaction at the speed with which the Governor is discharging the social contract he has with the people of Kogi State.

"Despite temporary challenges before us, the government has been able to deepen and build on the success stories of the previous administration in the areas of security, staff welfare, job creation and infrastructural development.

"I believe that an effective and definitive working synergy between your office and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) will not only make the government succeed but will further stamp or affirm our global recognition and ratings as one of the most transparent and responsible states in terms of fiscal matters", he said.

In a brief response, Hajiya Habibat Onumoko eulogized Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege for his strategic roles which she said partly culminated to the success of the present administration of Alhaji Ododo, assuring that she will do all her possible best to complement Governor Ododo's strive prudence, probity and transparency in his administration.

"Our overall objective is to serve the good people of Kogi State, harness their potential for productivity and support Governor Ododo in his quest to improve the living conditions of the people in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

"This task which is very achievable, demands that all hands must be on the deck and more effective synergy is required of us", she said.
