Ohinoyi Ebira Visit Kaduna On Invitation As Distinguished Guest Of Honor To The International Horse Racing Derby
On July 12, 2024, His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi Ebira, Alh. (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, honored the invitation from the Horse Racing federation of Nigeria to attend the 2024 International Horse Racing Derby themed : Renew Hope 1st Anniversary Democracy Derby at Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna. As Coordinator of the North Central Zone of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council, his visit also served as an opportunity to connect with his people living in Kaduna. On the eve of arrival He received the executives of the Ebira Peoples Association (EPA), traditional leaders, and other Ebiras residing in Kaduna under the leadership of Odeyi-Ani Ebira of Kaduna, commending their unity and encouraging them to prioritize speaking their native dialect to their children. He emphasized the importance of language as a vital aspect of identity.
On the July 13, 2024 His Royal Majesty joined other prominent traditional rulers, including the HRM Etsu Nupe Alh Dr Abubakar Yahaya Cfr, Mni (Life president International Horse Racing Derby), HRH Emir of Machina Alh. Dr. Bashir Albishir Bukar, Oluwo of Iwo Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi , HRM Emir of Zazzau Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, and representatives of the Sultan of Sokoto, at the Murtala Muhammed Square for the Horse Racing Federation Programme.
The event showcased the rich cultural heritage and enthusiastic horse riding skills of the Northerners, featuring five rounds of horse racing. The top four winners received cash prizes and vehicles, with His Royal Majesty presenting a cash gift and a car to the first-place winner, Hon. Babangida Maina of Kebbe Horse Racing Nigeria. The event provided an opportunity for His Royal Majesty to connect with his counterparts from other zones in the Northern Traditional Rulers Council.
