Good Luck to Our Girls! D’Tigress Start World Cup Quest Today
The African Queens of basketball, Nigeria’s D’Tigress, are back in action! They are starting their journey for the 2026 World Cup today with a big match against Colombia in Lyon, France.
Even though Nigeria has already qualified for the World Cup in Germany (scheduled for September), they are playing in this qualifying tournament right now to stay sharp and prove they are the best.
Coach Rema Wakama is on the ground with 12 talented players. They arrived in France over the weekend to get used to the court and the weather.
The upcoming matches of the D'Tigress are schedule below:
Today: vs. Colombia
Tomorrow: vs. South Korea
March 14: vs. Philippines
March 15: vs. France
March 17: vs. Germany
There are 24 countries fighting for a spot in the main event in Berlin. Since our girls are already champions, these games are like a "heavyweight rehearsal" to make sure they are ready to take on the world come September.
