Safe Passage To Armenia Confirmed As FG Begins Moving Nigerians Out Of Iran
The Federal Government has started helping Nigerians living in Iran move to safety as tensions rise in the Middle East.
According to Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the boss of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), the evacuation is currently ongoing for those who wish to leave.
The Nigerian Embassy officials in Tehran are escorting citizens across the border into the neighboring country of Armenia.
No Nigerian in Iran has been harmed by the ongoing tensions so far.
Staff from the Nigerian Embassy are stationed right at the border to receive and assist everyone crossing over.
The Federal Government says it is working closely with Armenian authorities to make sure the movement is smooth and secure. This is part of the government's promise to look after Nigerians anywhere they are in the world during emergencies.
As the situation in the Middle East continues, the government says it is monitoring everything closely to ensure our people stay out of harm's way.
