The Empowerment Upgrade: Why Kogi Central Must Go Digital Now

Kogi State is going digital, and our empowerment programmes should evolve alongside this transformation.

Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Kogi State is building a sustainable digital economy. Now is the time to match that vision with meaningful digital opportunities for our youths.

While traditional empowerment initiatives remain important, we can further strengthen them by investing in digital skills that create lifelong opportunities, sustainable livelihoods, and global competitiveness.

Through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT, we have secured strategic partnerships with leading technology companies that are ready to deliver FREE, world-class training with globally recognized certifications. The training partners are ready. The curriculum is ready. What is needed is the logistical support to bring these opportunities closer to our people.

Kogi Central is well positioned to lead this transformation. With the digital training facility at the GYB CBT Centre, Agassa, Okene, which has the capacity to train over 600 participants, alongside other ICT hubs across the state, we have the infrastructure to equip thousands of young people with high-demand skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Software Development, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Digital Marketing, and other emerging technologies that are shaping the global economy.

To our APC Federal Lawmaker's candidates, I respectfully encourage you to consider making digital skills development a key component of your constituency empowerment programmes. By investing in knowledge and innovation today, we can create jobs, empower entrepreneurs, and build a generation that will compete successfully on the global stage.

Once again, congratulations to all our candidates. May your campaigns be peaceful, successful, and crowned with victory.

Empowerment for today is commendable. Skills for a lifetime are a legacy.
