KOGI CENTRAL YOUTH: ARE WE CELEBRATING LEADERS OR OUR OWN SUFFERING?

By Hon. (Dr) Emmanuel Asipita Isezuo (Oracle)

Let us speak the truth to ourselves.

For years, many families across Kogi Central are still battling the same problems.

Our mothers still trek long distances searching for clean water.

Our fathers sit in darkness with no electricity, yet electricity bills keep coming.

Our schools are dilapidated and neglected.

Many graduates have stayed at home for years searching for opportunities that never come.

These are not rumours.

These are the realities of our people.

Yet whenever politics comes, many youths suddenly become the loudest defenders of the failed politicians. Streets are filled with dancing, customized T-shirts, praise songs, and endless arguments on social media.

But let us ask ourselves one honest question:

What exactly are we celebrating?

Are we celebrating development?

Are we celebrating jobs for our graduates?

Are we celebrating better schools for our children?

Are we celebrating steady electricity and clean water?

Or are we celebrating the failed politicians who only remember us during elections?

The painful truth is that many of those leaders live a completely different life from the people defending them. Their children attend the best schools. Their homes never experience darkness. Their water is always clean.

But the same youths facing hardship are the ones fighting online and attacking anyone who asks questions.

That is not loyalty.

That is not courage.

That is self-deception.

Kogi Central deserves leaders who will deliver real development, real opportunities, and real progress.

And every young person must remember this:

Your future is too valuable to exchange for temporary gifts, political noise, or empty promises.

So I ask you today:

Are we truly celebrating leadership… or are we celebrating our own suffering?

If you believe Kogi Central deserves better, share this message until it reaches every youth in our land.
